Aluminium Ingot Palletizing
Rotosis builds robotic systems that palletize hot ingots for aluminium foundries. You hand this heavy, hot and repetitive work over to an ABB robot and keep your people away from the heat and the heavy loads.

Reference project: RMT Döküm, Konya
At the RMT Döküm facility we built a two-station robot cell that palletizes aluminium ingots weighing about 20 kg. An ABB IRB 660 robot works in the cell. The ingots are palletized at 400-450 °C. Empty aluminium pallets are sent into the cell; as the pallets fill, the system moves them out of the cell.

Benefits of a robot for hot ingot palletizing
Work away from the heat
A robot, not a person, handles ingots at 400-450 °C, reducing health and safety risk.
Hand heavy loads to a robot
Repeatedly lifting ingots of about 20 kg becomes the robot's job.
Orderly pallets
Ingots are stacked in the same pattern on every pallet, making storage and shipping easier.
What is in the cell?
- ABB IRB 660 palletizing robot
- Gripper suited to the ingot and its temperature
- Two pallet stations
- Empty pallet infeed and full pallet outfeed
- Safety: fenced, enclosed cell with warning signs
- PLC and operator control

How we work
- Needs analysis: ingot weight, temperature, capacity, pallet and current line.
- Concept and quote: robot and gripper selection, cell layout, scope and budget.
- Build and install: we build the cell and install it at your plant.
- Commissioning and support: training and after-sales technical support.
What we need for a quote
- Ingot weight, size and temperature
- Required hourly capacity
- Pallet type and size, number of layers
- How the ingots leave the line
- Available space (photos or a plan are enough)
Frequently asked questions
Can hot aluminium ingots be palletized by a robot?
Yes. In the cell we built at RMT Döküm in Konya, ingots weighing about 20 kg at 400-450 °C are palletized by an ABB IRB 660 robot.
Which robot is used in the cell?
We use an ABB IRB 660 robot. Ingot weight, temperature, pallet pattern and capacity determine the robot and gripper selection.
How does the two-station cell work?
Empty aluminium pallets are sent into the cell. As the pallets fill, the system moves them out of the cell.
Can you integrate it into my existing casting line?
Yes. We plan the ingot outlet, pallet infeed and outfeed, safety and PLC integration around your existing line.
