Versions: which one fits?

IRB 660-180/3.15

180 kg handling capacity; the datasheet lists 1570 cycles per hour and a maximum velocity of 130 °/s for axes 1-3. ABB describes this as the high-speed version, able to handle 180 kg at full speed.

IRB 660-250/3.15

250 kg handling capacity; the datasheet lists 1360 cycles per hour and a path repeatability of 0.17 mm. ABB describes this as the 250 kg version for high throughput.

The right version depends on your load, gripper weight, pallet pattern and hourly capacity. Send us the details and we will choose together.

Applications

ABB's datasheet lists material handling and palletizing as the main applications of the IRB 660. Its reach is wide enough to serve up to four in-feed conveyors, two pallet stacks, one slip-sheet stack and four palletizing out-feeding lines.

For our palletizing solutions as a whole, see our robotic palletizing page.

Controller and software

According to the ABB datasheet, the IRB 660 works with the IRC5 Single Cabinet or OmniCore V250XT controllers. ABB's packaging line software PickMaster is named alongside the controller for quick programming and easy operation on the shop floor. The controller and software status of the robot we quote is stated in writing in the quote.
